Marble dust is totally inert and cannot harm anything or anybody. Inhaling marble dust causes toxic effects on the respiratory system.

When materials such as concrete stone brick or granite are cut or ground by workers it can create extremely fine dust particles which can make their way deep into the lungs if inhaled. Same would go with pure marble dust. These silica dust particles can cause scarring in the lungs leading to a serious and irreversible lung condition known as silicosis. 3 types of silicosis.

I was wearing a n95 approved dust mask however the second band was not secured properly around the back of my head. It has been classified as a human lung carcinogen which can potentially cause silicosis. Dry wall dust was not very thick in the air as most of the material was wet from the flood. Although not as unsafe as inhaling asbestos fibers or chemicals the dust itself can cause an irritant effect in the lungs.

Glass is also inert and non poisonous but i wouldn t recommend breathing in the dust.
