Continue applying the mixture and scrubbing until the carpet is thoroughly saturated. Technically bleach does not stain a carpet. Scrub the mixture into the carpet fibers with a scrub brush. Pour the mixture into a spray bottle.

Saturate the area of the carpet you want lightened with the bleach mixture. Take care not to soak the area with water as it will need to dry before you. If the carpet surrounding the stain is a shade of brown you can use your favorite. Pour this solution over the stained area of your carpet.

Blot the area with paper towels to remove any liquid bleach. If you ve just spilled bleach on your carpet there might still be time to save its color if you act quickly. Instead it strips the dye out of the carpet fibers leaving a mark. Run a towel or cloth under cold water squeeze it out then use it to blot out the affected area.

A bleach spill on a carpet whether it be large or small leaves behind a telltale mark. Rinse the bleach stain using a sponge and warm water. Blot away wet bleach with a cold damp towel.
